The latest British Army PCS Lightweight Thermal Smock replaces the traditional reversible softie which has already seen much extensive use in the operational theatre of Afghanistan, featuring a range of innovative features over the reversible 2-colour softie.
The lightweight thermal smock is designed to be warn under the smock as part of the part of the layered clothing system,
The jacket features a zip up collar for ventilation as well as 2 underarm ventilation slits under the arms for adjustment to comfort.
There is a generous sized front pocket on the front of the jacket below the zip-up vent for storage of items like notepads, gloves, map case etc.
There are two pocket compartments which are also internally fleece lined to an exact specification like the MTP PCS Combat Smock.
The entire jacket is fleece lined including the pockets as already, so it’s quite are much more comfortable, it’s a perfect buy and is a good style which can be worn as stand alone due to its military spec olive green colour
It was first issue to troops in Afghan as part of the initial roll out with the new PCS range of clothing and went on to replace the previous softie and fleece which were part of the Soldier 95 DPM system.
The smock is adjustable to size using the Velcro cuffs on the bottom of the sleeves, bottom of the jacket and the adjustable elastic toggle at the top of the jacket.
This is a superb item item in military specifications which can be worn on its own and will provide adequate warmth and protection from most European climates and temperatures
